4 Adoring saints around him stand.
And thrones and powers before him fall ;
The God shines gracious through the man,
And sheds new glories on them all.
5 When shall rhe day, dear Lord, appear,
That I shall mount to dwell above,
And stand and bow amongst them there,
And view thy face, and sing thy love.

Whose power and grace are unconfined
Dispel the gloomy shades of night,
The thicker darkness of the mind.
2 To mine illumined eyes display
The glorious truth thy words reveal;
Cause me to run the heavenly way,
Make me delight to do thy will.
3 Thine inward teachings make me know
The wonders of redeeming love,
The vanity of things below,
And excellence of things above.
4 While through these dubious paths I stray
Spread like the sun thy beams abroad;
O show the dangers of the way,
And guide my feeble steps to God.
5 Let thy kind Spirit in my heart
For ever dwell, O God of love ;
And light and heavenly peace impart,
Sweet earnest of the joys above.
