Samson highway and Trinity Street.  While here, a catering service for the Geneva Rotary
                     Club was developed by Abbie.
                            In February of 1954, Grover Richard , Ricky, was born.  Abbie was away from the
                     Center for approximately a year.
                            In  1958, Lamar was promoted to the position of assistant postmaster, for the
                     Geneva Post Office, a position that he held until promoted in 1972.
                            During the management of the Community Center by Lamar and Abbie, a new
                     building and complete facility was constructed,  in 1966, the pool was added,  in 1967 and
                     1968, Lamar and Abbie built a new home on the Enterprise highway in Geneva.  This was
                     next door to his father and mother.  His father had retired and was in poor health.
                            During the late 60's Lamar was invited to become a member of the Geneva Rotary
                     Club.  In 1970 he was voted "Rotary's Man of the Year".  He served as club president in
                     1971-72.
                            In November of 1972, the Postal Service reassigned Lamar to the Dothan
                     Management Center.  In January of 1973, he was promoted to an executive position of
                     Director of Labor Relations.  In 1974 he served as Postmaster of the Newton, Alabama
                     Post Office for six months.  The Dothan Management Center was consolidated with the
                     Mobile Management Center in the mid seventies.  Lamar was assigned to the District
                     Office in Atlanta.  For a 6 months period in 1977.  He was the Director of Labor Relations
                     for the Macon, Georgia management Center.
                            At the close of the postal year for the  1978, January 9,  1979, Lamar retired from
                     the Postal Service, completing 41 years of Postal Service.

                     Chairman, Several years-Red Cross Blood drives
                     Chairman, Geneva City School Board-Schools received accreditation during term.
                     President, Member of Board of Directors-Geneva Rotary Club
                     Board of Directors, Geneva County Cattlemen's Association
                     Chairman of Deacons, First Baptist Church
                     Chairman of Church Building program ($250,000) addition
                     President of Men's Club
                     Active Church member


                     Warren William Beck bought the land in  1875 and farmed.
                     George Warren at age 12 after the death of his father started farming the land
                     Grover Richard Beck farmed the land
                     George Lamar Beck, Sr. farmed the land
                     Grover Richard Beck, II farmed the land to this day.
