MY HOME ON MAIN STREET
ABBIE HARRIS: "Your childhood home never fades from memory"
As a child, I thought our house was elegant. With the wall paper rooms, wool
rugs on the wide heart pine floors, velvet curtians hanging from the tall windows from the
ceiling to floor, the beautiful oak furniture, family pictures on the table in the parlor. The
tall blinds on each side of the outside windows, White bannisters around the front porch
with swings and rockers. Mama's flower pit on the south, side, Papa's car in the garage.
To a child of 8 I thought it was the garden of Eden.
