Chapter SAR. Grandson of James Burnett who married Martha Daugharty daughter of
James Daugharty sister to Nancy that married Ichabod Fouracker. Any of my sons can
use this national number with a little other help to become a member of SAR.
THE SNOW STORM
Papa always carried his family back to North Carolina for visits because of school it was in
the summer time. The Alabama cousins had never seen it snow. On one of their visits to
Roseboro, the North Carolina cousins were determined to show their Alabama Cousins
how it looked when it snowed. While the grown ups were visiting in the parlor, they
heard giggles, yells and jumping up and down. The adults came out into the hall to see
what was going on. They saw a snow storm of the century. The NC cousins had torn
open a feather mattress at the top of the stairs and the Alabama cousins were having the
time of their lives down stairs catching feather snow flakes and playing in the snow.
Mama said when they left for Alabama, the house still had feathers.
