BROTHER JESSE WAS SOMETHING ELSE !
Papa thought that Jesse was old enough for a gun. Papa made it clear to Brother that he
was only to shoot the gun when Papa was with him. Papa came home early one day and
Brother was out by the barn shooting his gun. Papa calmly walked over to son Jesse, took
the gun away, walked over to the big post and beat the gun to pieces. Don't know how
long it was before Brother got another gun.
ANNIE LAURA TOLD ME...
............................................................. I'm sure that it came from Maye and Willie.
When Brother wanted to use the car and Papa said no., Brother would do
something to the car, then papa couldn't start the car and he would call Jesse to come and
fix the car. After Jesse had fixed the car, papa then let Jesse use the car. Papa just knew
that Jesse was a miracle worker when it came to cars. Papa never did find out about the
car deal.

born, it was in the Geneva Reaper that the Presbyterian Church had a service for the boys
