PRAYING AND PRAISING.
       How swift and joyful was his flight
         On wings of everlasting love.
     3 Deep in the shades of gloomy death
         Th’ almighty Captive pris’ner lay ;
       Th’ almighty Captive left the earth,
         And rose to everlasting day.
     4 Among a thousand harps and songs,
         Jesus, the God, exalted reigns;
       His sacred name fills all their tongues,
         And echoes through the heavenly plains.

                 Forgiveness of enemies.
     1 i i CATHER, forgive,” the Saviour cried
          * With his expiring breath,
       And drew eternal blessings down
         On those who wrought his death.
     2 Jesus, this wondrous love we sing,
         And whilst we sing, admire ;
       Breathe on our souls, and kindle there
         The same celestial fire.
     3 By thine example ever swayed,
         We for our foes will pray ;
       With love their hatred, and their curse
         With blessings will repay.

           The presence of Christ makes all well.
     1 LJOW tedious and tasteless the houre,
         * When Jesus no longer I see!
