SUPPLICATION.
3 So waits my soul to see thy grace,
And, more intent than they,
Meets the first opening of thy face,
And finds a brighter day.
4 Then in the Lord let Israel trust,
Let Israel seek his face;
The Lord is good, as well as just,
And plenteous is his grace.
5 There’s full redemption at his throne
For sinners long enslaved ;
The great Redeemer is his Son,
And Israel shall be saved.

Pleading the name of Jesus.
1 pATHER, I stretch my hands to thee,
r No other help I know ;
If thou withdraw thyself from me,
Ah! whither shall I go ?
2 What did thine only Son endure
Before I drew my breath !
What pain, what labor, to secure
My soul from endless death 1
3 Author of faith, to thee I lift
My weary, longing eyes;
O let me now receive that gift,
My soul without it dies!
4 Surely thou wilt not let me die ;
O speak, and I shall live;
And here I will unwearied lie.
Till thou thy Spirit give.
