Why should I cleave to things below
And let my God, my Saviour go ?
3 Call me away from flesh and sense;
One sovereign word can call me thence;
I would obey the voice divine,
And all inferior joys resign.
4 Be earth with all her scenes withdrawn,
Let noise and vanity begone:
In secret silence of the mind
My heaven, and there my God, I find.

Prayer for aubtnisaion.
1 GATHER, whate’er of earthly bliss
I Thy sovereign will denies,
Accepted at thy throne of grace,
Let this petition rise.
2 Give me a calm, a thankful heart,
From every murmur free;
The blessings of thy grace impart,
And make me live to thee.
3 Let the sweet hope that thou art mine
My life and death attend ;
Thy presence through my journey shine,
And crown my journey’s end.
