CONFLICT.
     O grant me thine assistance,
And keep me in thy way !
8 0 may thy counsels guide me,
And keep me while I live !
In death be thou my portion,
       And then my soul receive,
     To praise my blessed Saviour,
       And magnify his grace,
     Bestowed on such a sinner,
The chief of all the race.
9 There, with the holy angels
       That stand around the throne.
     And saints of every nation,
       Our voices joined in one,
     We’ll sound aloud the praises
       Of our Redeemer God,
Who saved us by his sorrows,
And washed us in his blood.

1 l\A Y span of life will soon be done,
1 1 The passing moments say,
As length’ning shadows o’er the mead
       Proclaim the close of day.
0 that my heart might dwell aloof
       From all created things,
And learn that wisdom from above,
       Whence true contentment springs.
’2 Courage, my soul! thy bitter cross
       In every trial here,
Shall bear thee to thy heaven above,
       But shall not enter there.
